SNMA

BALSO is the Columbia chapter of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA) which is interested in improving the access of underrepresented minorities to a medical education. With over 8000 members nation wide, SNMA is the largest student run medical organization focusing on the medical education needs for students of color. We are a part of Region 9, the largest of the regional chapters in the country. BALSO elects an SNMA chapter president separate from the BALSO president. Our SNMA president is a liaison between the Columbia chapter, our region and the national group. NBLHO

BALSO is also the Columbia chapter of the National Boricua Latino Health Organization. We are pleased to say that members of BALSO are on the executive board of this organization.
